1.) This year, I have a job on top of normal school work (thank goodness that it's not the same amount of homework load as last year!). Even though it takes time out of my day, I REALLY like it! When I'm tutoring Japanese, I love the feeling that I get when I see the light of understanding in the students' eyes when they finally comprehend what I'm explaining! It's nice to help out in a subject that I really love. Oh, and grading the workbooks is fun too!!
2.) I am currently trying to complete the application for a school in Japan for next year. I just found out that the school will only accept either 1 student per semester or 1 for the whole year (this school shares an exchange program with mine). This scares the crap out of me, because there are at least 2 that want to go for the entire year (me included). So wish me luck!
3.) I just finished working on the application/requirements for a summer research grant proposal thing. Basically, if we receive this grant, my Japanese teacher will take 5 students (me included) on a pilgrimage around Japan. This is so we can follow in the footsteps of the great haiku poet, Matsuo Basho, and later make a documentary about our travels. As part of the freshman class that we are required to take, we have to read Matsuo Basho's Narrow Road to the Deep North, so we hope to show our documentary to the freshman in future classes to get them interested in the book! I also drew the sketch that will be on the front of the proposal (you can see it here)!! Oh, I hope we get it!!
Yeah, so I've been spending all of my artistic time with the proposal sketch, and random doodles in class (and still working on some fun memes).
So, all the requests will probably have to wait until Winter Break, when I have time to think again.
See you all later, and I hope that you enjoy all of the pictures that I posted!! ^_^
